LARGE OUTDOOR GRYPHON
This piece was created to sit at the side of the driveway in a front garden facing
the gates to be visible from the road. Based on various pictures from Greek
Mythology.
This was made from hundreds of pieces of thin sheet mild steel for the many feather
layers of the wings with thicker sheet used to make the body in multiple sections
welded together. Based on a heavy duty wireframe made from recycled floodlight
brackets with the legs made from heavy duty pipes to support the weight with all
parts spray galvanised and finally coated with metallic effect paint.
The statue was designed to fit into the existing landscape partially resting on a
rock with one leg raised, chained to a stake.
