STEAMPUNK - MECHANICAL JELLYFISH
This sculpture is loosely based on pictures of various Jellyfish from the internet but
due to the unusual shapes and transparent nature of the body or bell I decided to
make this in a Steampunk style with exposed cogs and gear mechanisms.
The body is made of brushed mild steel mainly along with Copper/Brass effect pieces
including parts from various old light fittings.
It is intended to hang by wire and has been built incorporating colour changing LED
lighting within the body and Electroluminescent Wires in the tentacles with the main
body motorised to pulse in and out slowly to give the appearance of swimming.
