This sculpture is based on pictures of museum pieces of the Plesiosaur marinedinosaur that lived during the early part of the Jurassic Period which many believethe Loch Ness monster to be a descendant of.The body is made from multiple pieces of sheet mild steel of various thicknesses hand bent, filed, sanded and hammered into shape then welded together. Welding along the spine in particular has been left exposed to give a more accurate representation of bone.Finished in brushed steel and partially polished & clear lacquered. As it doesn’thave legs, it is made to be displayed on its stand made from stainless steel supportson a Mahogany base or hung by wire if preferred.This design can be reproduced and can be made in other metals such as StainlessSteel, or wax / lacquered or painted. Can also be made in different sizes and poses.n.b. Copies although close can never be exact due to differences in the metal and weld finish and rock used for the stand.
