PTERANODON SKELETON
This sculpture is loosely based on pictures of museum pieces of the Pteranodon, one of the Pterosaur flying dinosaurs. The body is made from multiple pieces of sheet mild steel of various thicknesses hand bent, filed, sanded and hammered into shape then welded together.  Welding along the spine in particular has been left exposed to give a more accurate representation of bone. Finished in brushed steel and partially polished then clear lacquered.  Due to the flying pose it is made to be displayed on its own stand which has been made from stainless steel embedded into a block of blue slate, as it is light, it can also be hung by wire. This design can be reproduced and can be made in other metals such as Stainless Steel, or wax / lacquered or painted.  Can also be made in different sizes and poses. n.b. Copies although close can never be exact due to differences in the metal and weld finish and rock used for the stand.
Guide price at this size with Slate display stand £650.00 (no vat)
