WAR OF THE WORLDS - TRIPOD
This sculpture is loosely based on the various War of the Worlds stories and films
but I decided to make my own version more in keeping with the original Victorian
period giving it a Steampunk style.
This model stands at around 5ft tall made from steel and aluminium including an
amount of reclaimed materials such as pneumatic cylinders from exercise equipment
and old spotlights.
Built into the design are various lighting effects including flickering LEDs which
illuminate the heatwaves, engine exhaust and canopy. The front of the ship has three
LED spotlights and within the legs and body are colour changing LED strips which can
be adjusted to be a single steady colour or continually changing and fading.
