SPITFIRE MkII - BATTLE OF BRITAIN
This sculpture is based on pictures of the iconic Spitfire fighter plane which along with the Hawker Hurricane
fought in the Battle of Britain during World War 2.
The sculpture was based on pictures and diagrams from the internet and a small plastic model!
The sculpture shown in the pictures during construction has an approximat 1.8 metre wingspan, this is made
from recycled Stainless Steel with the canopy, wheels and propeller made from Aluminium.
We made an Aluminium and steel base with the Spitfire attached by hidden screws and the base bolted to a
concrete pad.
